Dear Parent/Guardian,
My name is Mrs. Stacie Sheffie, and I will be your son/daughters High School Counselor. I am scheduled to be at View Park every Monday and Wednesday to work with you and your child.
My goal is to assist ALL students with their academic, social and personal performance to be successful in high school; and to prepare them for life beyond high school.
As you may know, students need to pass their academic course work each year and earn specific credits to promote to the next grade level: 9th-10th Grades = 55 credits, 10th-11th Grades = 110 credits, 11th-12th Grades = 170 credits. All students MUST earn 230 credits; successfully pass both the English and Math sections of the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE); and fulfill both the Service Learning and Computer Literacy requirements in order to earn a high
school diploma.
In accordance with state law and District policy, I would like to schedule a conference with you and your child to create an Individualized Graduation Plan (lGP). During this conference, we will discuss your child's academic progress, credits, graduation requirements, as well as college and career programs in preparation for a successful future.
Please call me on either a Monday or a Wednesday at (323) 292-0331 to schedule a conference so that your child receives the mandated AB 1802 components of the career and graduation conference.
Thank you for your interest in completing this process for the 2010-2011 School Year.
Sincerely,
Stacie Sheffie, MSC
